Permanent & Full-time PwC_216246WD-int

PwC's Global Fiscal Policy team supports clients across the spectrum of fiscal policy; providing policy advice, technical assistance and capacity building in the areas of public financial management (incl. trade policy), tax reform (incl. environmental policy), and governance and transparency. We work with international organisations, intergovernmental bodies, aid agencies, and directly for ministries of finance and other government departments around the world, advising senior ministers and decision makers on complex issues of significance for society. Our team includes public financial management specialists, tax policy experts, economists, accountants, policy advisors, and project managers, many of whom have experience working in the public sector and in international contexts.

We are looking for a Manager to join the team. The role is based in London, although flexibility to travel would be an advantage. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects for clients in a range of international contexts (language skills, particularly Arabic and French, would also be an advantage).

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Leading the delivery of projects and proposals, including managing people, budgets and deliverables.
  • Taking a lead role in managing, supporting and developing junior members of the team.
  • Working directly with senior team members, and technical specialists in the UK and abroad.
Essential Qualification & Skills
  • Strong interest in working in fiscal policy, public financial management, policy analysis, economics, and/or related areas.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably a Masters or PhD) in a field relevant to the team's areas of expertise.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent team-working skills.
  • A self starter, able to develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Fast learner, quick to pick up new topics (as fiscal policy is very broad, candidates are not expected to be familiar with all areas).
  • Enthusiasm for creative solutions to address policy issues.
  • Experience working directly with clients (or similar stakeholders).
  • Self-motivated, with an appetite to support business development and help grow the team further.
We understand that applicants may not feel comfortable in applying for a role unless they fully meet the requirements as advertised. We want to encourage people to apply who may not fully meet the requirements but still feel they have relevant skills/experience and a genuine enthusiasm for fiscal policy.
