FT Specialist is the B2B information division of the FT. Comprising 17 brands, it provides niche audience groups with information that helps them make better decisions and operate more effectively. Amongst the industry leading brands with huge scope for growth and development: The Banker, Investor Chronicle, FDI, FTAdviser, FundFire, Ignites, Pensions Expert and PWM.
Brief summary of role:
FT Live is looking for an ambitious graduate to join our commercial team to secure new sponsorship revenues & grow a profitable business franchise within Financial Times Live – (FT Live).
Main duties and responsibilities:
Deliver sponsorship revenue and seek to exceed targets set across your portfolio of events
Simultaneously sell sponsorship packages across a portfolio of physical and digital event products which includes bespoke events, half and full day conferences, and industry leading awards
Create client relationships with senior decision makers
Conduct sales presentations both in-person and by telephone
Maintain and strategically develop a number of key accounts
Exceed monthly activity levels and sales targets
Work closely with events delivery team; editorial/content, marketing, design and operations.
Work on integrated business solutions in collaboration with FT’s advertising, research and content businesses
Attend and network at industry events domestically and globally.
An inquisitive and astute graduate looking to start a career in B2B event sales
A 2:1 degree, preferably research based
Entrepreneurial individual who can innovate, generate new ideas and think outside of the box
Awareness of wider industry trends and ability to converse credibly with clients on a range of national and international business topics
Highly organised, strong time management skills and the ability to multitask
Excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders
Be able to work within a large, dynamic and fast moving international business
A motivated, self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team
Client Focus: Builds strong relationships with external stakeholders to gain acceptance of a product, service, or ideas
Action Oriented: Uses strong organisational, project management, and analytical abilities to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
