We expect graduates to rotate after 12 months to another sector of the business. We offer mentoring and support in every area of work, as well as a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership with the IMechE and IET. Graduates will work on a number of projects around the UK during the 2-year programme, in sectors including nuclear, highways, rail, water, airports and tunnels.

Costain offers a range of exciting development opportunities to accelerate your career and enable you to achieve your potential both during and after the Graduate Development Scheme
What will I be doing?

Manchester are looking for a graduate to join our water detail design engineering delivery team. Costain already has secured frameworks with several major waste and clean water utility providers and has been selected to support these utility providers with their AMP7 improvements for the next 4 years.

The potential Graduate must have specific interests in relevant computer aided design software. The role will be multi-disciplined involving Piping and Layout, Civils and Electrical (including control systems). The water delivery team are looking at improving our delivery by using automated design, artificial intelligence, and GIS applications. In addition to 3D modelling, Manchester are implementing a digital delivery strategy which will involve the following processes:
  • Digital Surveying
  • Visual Project Initiation
  • 3D Models
  • 3D Models Linked to Asset Information
  • Intelligent P&IDs
  • Collaborative Design Reviews
  • Digital Rehearsals

This will be a unique opportunity for a potential graduate to join our team as innovation and design software accelerates at an unprecedented rate. The graduate will need to play a key part in delivering our digital strategy within Costain's clean and wastewater sector (Leading Edge).
