Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the position is to maintain and manage our fleet of golf course maintenance equipment with additional responsibility given to a fleet of auxiliary land management equipment.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and adaptable individual who has the skills to overcome broad-ranging challenges. Working within the estate allows the role to be varied and offers the benefit of a wide colleague base across departments.

What you'll be doing:

Setting up machinery daily for cut quality and HOC

Grease machinery regularly.

Pre-start checks (fill out pre-start check sheets), fault finding, check belts, and bearings.

Wash off machines after use.

Order parts when needed.

Keep the shed neat and tidy.

Repair machines.

Service and keep records of servicing.

Cylinder grind.

Look after the washdown area.

Make workshop Covid safe. Sanitise machines and touchpoints.

What else can you bring?

Experience with precision cylinder cutting units including the use of grinding equipment
The ability to monitor and record maintenance and fault logging systems

Fill in service records, and implement service plans.

Purchasing and acquisition of parts

Welding and basic fabrication

Knowledge of hydraulic systems

Experience with tractors

Strong regard for safe working practices

Equipment operation skills in the field will be of benefit to the position.

The ability to work well within a team environment.

The ability to manage the tractor shed and workshop areas.


NVQ Level 2 in land-based engineering or equivalent

City and Guilds in Welding level1 or equivalent

A competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience will be offered to the successful candidate, as will a range of benefits.

Pay range: between £10.00 - £ 13.44 depending on qualifications.
