As a product development engineer, you will play an important role in a multi-disciplinary team developing and introducing new LED-based display components, while characterizing and improving the product and its underlying technology. Hardware Product Development Engineer Responsibilities


  • Support the process and product development teams on process changes, new process & new product introduction to ensure successful New Technology Introduction (NTI) to enable products to meet manufacturability goals

  • Work closely with internal FB teams, external partners and suppliers and key vendors to identify and mitigate risks to successful product introductions and ramps at our partner facilities

  • Analyze bulk data sets to report and improve product health

  • Influence design, process, product, test and/or system changes to meet display and system performance, yield and reliability goals

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience as semiconductor product engineer in optoelectronics or display industry

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information to non-experts

Preferred Qualifications


  • Proven ability to drive improvement activities through structured problem solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, DMAIC)

  • Familiar with data sets obtained from defect inspection systems and electrical and optical test and characterization

  • Scripting ability and task automation

  • Self-starter with strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Statistical data analysis skills, including software used for analysis (SAS, JMP, R, Minitab etc.)

  • Experience in use of quality tools, data extraction, analysis and reporting, with experience gained in such areas as semiconductor yield or quality engineering, semiconductor process engineering, foundry management, device fabrication, test or assembly manufacturing
