Facebook is seeking an experienced communications professional to cover the position of Head of Communications for the Nordic region on a fixed-term contract of twelve months. At the core of the role is leading the company's communications efforts across the Nordic countries, leading a small team of experienced and self-driving professionals. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing and executing high-profile corporate and consumer communications campaigns, managing press relations and handling complex issues. The role balances strategic thinking with hands-on implementation - leading proactive and reactive communications from planning to execution and managing an in-house team as well as external agencies. This position is based in Stockholm or Copenhagen, and will report to the Communications Director for Northern Europe who is based in London.

Head of Communications, Nordics Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute both corporate and consumer communications strategies and initiatives across the Nordics to protect and enhance Facebook's reputation and support business objectives

  • Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media, including broadcast, print and consumer outlets

  • Lead in-house team and manage external agency teams across the region

  • Liaise with and foster relationships with a wide range of reporters

  • Handle a wide range of high-profile and complex media enquiries

  • Brief executive spokespeople

  • Coordinate with Communications colleagues in EMEA and globally, and across the Facebook family of apps, as well as cross-functional teams across the company

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience from media, politics or a large organisation

  • Excellent writer and communicator with a keen attention to detail

  • Absolute fluency in at least one Scandinavian language as well as in English is a must

  • Strong people management skills

  • Proven ability to work with and influence a range of stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Track record of landing proactive communications campaigns

  • Experience of managing crises and complex high-profile issues

  • Deep media relationships in one or more of the Scandinavian countries

  • Passion for Facebook is essential
