  • For posts on PHE Civil Service terms and conditions, on appointment the salary is normally the minimum point (see salary range above). This will be dependent on the successful candidate's current salary and terms and/or equivalent experience. Given the nature of the work of PHE, as a Category 1 department, you may be required in an emergency, if deemed a necessity, to redeploy to another role at short notice. You may also be required to work at any other location, within reasonable travelling distance of your permanent home address, in line with the provisions set out in your contract of employment.

PHE North West Region is seeking to recruit a permanent Health and Wellbeing Programme Lead which will provide an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people living in the North West.

We are seeking applications from motivated and enthusiastic individuals to focus on reducing health inequalities and improving health in relation to COVID-19 as part of the Health and Wellbeing Team's Recovery work. The postholder will work closely with senior colleagues to co-ordinate and deliver a programme of work to address key local priorities. The post holder will manage a small team and will need to have experience of developing others.

The role will support the development of our new ways of working programme with local councils across the 3 sub-regions: Cheshire and Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cumbria and Lancashire. There will be a focus on building our health inequalities, wider determinants and life course offer.

It is desirable for applicants to hold a qualification to MSc level or similar. The post holders should have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
