With an experienced production team and extensive manufacturing facilities, offering a full development and manufacturing service for soft furnishing products, including cushions, pillows, duvets, curtains and blinds.

What is the role about?

This is an exciting opportunity to join Herbert Parkinson manufacturing as a Health, Safety & Environment advisor. You will be responsible for leading and advising the branch in all matters related to Health, Safety and Environmental & the relative standards.

This role requires someone with a passion & commitment to keeping Partners safe & setting exemplary standards. You will use your knowledge, skills and experience to promote, manage and embed a positive Health and Safety culture within the workplace.

What will you be doing?

As a Health and Safety Environment Advisor you will be:
  • Responsible for all Risk Assessments on site
  • Developing and maintaining method statements for safe working practices
  • Reviewing and understanding data and metrics
  • Reviewing machinery to ensure compliance
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of staff on site
  • Developing and training the branch Health and Safety reps
  • Delivering Health and Safety training
  • Developing plans to reduce risk of accidents
  • Creating and maintaining Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensuring these are embedded on site.
  • Ensure sufficient reporting mechanisms are in place & accurate in relation to activity not limited to Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs
  • Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances
What you'll have:

Essential Skills:
  • Entry level Health and Safety advisor role with some academic or working towards professional qualifications, eg. NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Experience working in a HS&E role in a similar manufacturing industry
  • Sound knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001 & 45001
  • Demonstrable record of driving significant change through an operation
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present to relative audiences
What else can you bring?

Desirable Skills:
  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or working towards) and may hold either GradIOSHor equivalent status.
