The Business HR team provides support across the Creative, Commercial, Operations areas of Channel 4. The Reward, Talent Acquisition, L&D and HR
Operations teams provide specialist strategic HR knowledge to the Business HR Team as well as to the rest of the Channel.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join us working with the Operations client groups which incorporate Commercial Affairs, Finance, IS, Press &
Publicity, Corporate Relations & the Indie Growth Fund on a permanent contract.

This role actively supports the delivery of the Channel 4 HR strategy by providing proactive, effective and professional operational advice and support to people
managers and employees within one of the divisions of Channel 4 and will report in to the HR Business Partner.

You will need to have significant experience of working in a generalist role with a particular depth of knowledge in employee relations and employment law. You
will also need to enjoy collaborating with colleagues, building professional relationships with your client groups and working to support the channels
delivery of our remit.

• Advise, coach & embed management capability to support best practice in the management of people issues covering recruitment, selection, development,
organisational effectiveness & change management
• Advice and coach managers on a range of people policies and complex cases, such as grievance & disciplinary cases, balancing business need and a fair
ER process. Ensures a consistent and measured approach in compliance with employment legislation
• Partnership and interaction with the business to ensure the right outcomes are delivered with the ability to proactively challenge and being very clear
on desired outcomes, success criteria, timelines etc.
• Proactively support the attraction and selection of high quality talent in line with current and future business requirements
• In partnership with Learning and Development, design and deliver core HR training to build people management capability

• Strong experience of working in a generalist HR role
• Excellent track record for building strong professional relationships and credibility across all levels of the organisation
• Good understanding of HR practice and a sound grasp of employment law
• Extensive experience of resolving a wide range of challenging employee relations situations
• Demonstrable experience of applying best practice HR across day to day people activities
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and a varying workload
• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues
• Acts with integrity at all times
• Demonstrates resilience in the face of obstacles and takes personal responsibility for delivery
