We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a HR Advisor where you will support and lead on all TUPE activities both during the transition and integration phases, ensuring a smooth TUPE transfer for in-scope population. You will manage the end to end HR activities and on-boarding processes for all TUPE transfer employees and be the first point of contact for HR operational related queries. This role is initially offered on a six month fixed terms basis.

What will I be doing?

Leading on all people elements of TUPE activity within the project including:
  • Work with contract lead team to ensure mobilisation plans are in place and are executed
  • Compile and own TUPE schedule
  • Review/analyse ELI data and ensure that measures are communicated to incumbent
  • Support contract lead team with 'in-scope' review and conversations with the incumbent
  • Manage and update queries register, ensuring that responses are provided to employee reps/transferring employees in a timely manner. Escalate questions/queries as appropriate
  • Liaise with the recognised trade union and employee representatives as necessary and with trade unions subject to recognition as a part of the TUPE process
  • Liaise with incumbent's HR team to ensure smooth transition for all transferring employees
  • Manage and maintain TUPE consultation schedule and work with contract lead team to arrange one to one meetings with transferring employees
  • Support line managers at one to one meetings
  • Liaise with HR services team to ensure that all relevant information is provided to ensure transferring employees are set up on MyHR on the transfer date
  • Liaise with HR services and reward team to ensure reward statements and welcome packs are produced and issued
  • Manage the day 1/week one/month 1 onboarding processSupport contract management team during first month of onboarding including; arranging engagement initiatives, responding and closing out queries and liaising with L&D regarding inductions
  • Responsible for all onboarding activities and liaison with other Costain department/functions to ensure a smooth transition
  • Ensure HR risk management is taken into account and briefed to all the key stakeholders
  • Responsible for ensuring that our policies and practices are compliant with TUPE and wider employment legislation
  • Maintain a high standard of record-keeping regarding the steps taking during the transfer and consultation
  • Provide Generalist HR advice and guidance on all ER matters.
About you
  • Knowledge of UK employment law
  • Considerable experience of dealing with TUPE transfers (specifically transfers in) and collective consultation.
  • Ability to manage both the commercial business objectives and HR agenda in order to achieve the most appropriate outcomes for the business and HR
  • Proven experience of managing and implementing projects and change activities
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Under pressure, ability to maintain high levels of energy and resilience to "make things happen"
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change quickly
  • Collaborative approach with colleagues and teams
  • Proactively manage own development
  • Associate CIPD or equivalent
