Job Title: HR Analyst (Projects) - 6 month FTC
Reports to: Senior HR Business Partner

Specialists in Reward, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and People Systems work across the channel, supporting the HR Business Partners to ensure that our people are supported, developed and engaged so that the channel can continue to deliver on its remit and produce award-winning content.


The purpose of this role is to work closely with one of the Senior HR Business Partners on ongoing projects. This role has a strong data and analytical component which requires building and maintaining effective data sets and the effective dissemination and reporting of results, interpretations and implications to a wide variety of stakeholders with different levels of analytical understanding. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have some generalist HR experience and experience in project management: tracking key project milestones, spotting project risks and helping to plan and support the delivery of excellent work against those. This role will provide the opportunity to work closely on strategic project work for the business and to work closely with other members of the HR team.

The post holder will need to be proactive, highly professional, credible, adaptable and keen to learn and to support the wider project and HR team.

  • Analyse data and collate HR reports and spreadsheets
  • As necessary, provide input on the statistical and graphical content for project reports
  • Provide analytical support and contribute to the delivery of a number of projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis during a time of significant change at Channel 4
  • Provide project management support
  • Provide support on reviewing and updating Job Descriptions
  • Prepare market data submission for the business and be the key point of contact for market data providers
  • Provide job evaluation support to the Reward and HR Generalist teams
  • Perform regular and ad hoc HR data analysis, including headcount tracking, diversity tracking, cost analysis, and other analytical activities
  • Interpret results and identify key strategic themes, risks and opportunities that inform HR priorities
  • Provide management, auditing and governance of HR data
  • Develop, and deliver a variety of company-wide HR measures, reports and queries through consultation with stakeholders that are aligned to the HR and business strategy
  • Ensure that HR data is aligned to other core business data
  • Share best practice and other teachings with the wider HR team to build their data literacy and confidence
  • Research and maintain an expert understanding of the key internal and external data required to inform HR priorities
  • Perform specialised ad-hoc predictive and prescriptive analysis using internal and external data from multiple systems utilising appropriate statistical techniques to provide actionable insight
  • Support as an HR generalist where required.

Technical & Professional Skills
  • Excellent experience of analysing information, drawing insights and forming recommendations
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills as well as strong general IT and MS Office skills
  • Highly numerate and confident in explaining calculations and concepts
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Proven experience of data analysis and data modelling
  • Experience of developing and owning data governance efforts
  • A trusted advisor with exceptional integrity and confidentiality
  • Comfortable working to and managing complex projects to deadlines
