This is a chance to build your career in an organisation that matters to millions. To join a city within a city – to create great experiences for the 210,000 (and counting) passengers who pass through our doors each day. Life with us means exploring unlimited opportunities. Making a real difference to people who are travelling to all sorts of places for all sorts of different reasons. And building a diverse community reflecting the passengers we serve.

As our People Business Partner for Security, you’ll help us make every journey better by enabling us to find, develop and retain people who are as driven by customer service as we are. Our people are a huge differentiator, so it’s vital that we create great employee experiences and have all the right policies and procedures in place to get the best out of them, from learning initiatives to succession planning. A big focus for us is on creating careers, not just jobs (which means we always look to promote internally here in HR). We also partner with the business to ensure we have the talent we need to deliver on our strategies now, and into the future. This is a high profile team that’s central to the smooth running of a very complex airport.

Join Heathrow and be an incredibly important part of the 80 million passenger journeys we make happen each year.

Your Role Will Involve:

Working with the Security Leadership Team to create and deliver the people plan for Heathrow’s largest function; leading on the people agenda for over 4,000 colleagues

Translating our business plans into a clear people strategy for the Security function – and being clear on the people implications of business initiatives

Coaching, challenging and influencing business leaders to raise the bar on performance across the function; creating highly engaged teams and driving their success

Developing strategic workforce plans for the business through analysing current resource and talent levels, including future skill demand, and implementing and embedding organisational change

These Skills are Essential:

The ability to business partner and influence senior leaders, with a proven track record of coaching and developing individuals, teams and functions to deliver an exceptional performance

Experience and knowledge across all aspects of the People function – including Employee Relations, Organisational Design, Resourcing, Talent Management and Reward – with the ability to translate this knowledge into pragmatic and robust HR advice

Tenacity to challenge the status quo, work with pace and deliver meaningful business change, whilst acting as a team player within Security and the People function

Resilience, with an adaptable approach that will deliver results for a 24/7 agile airport operation

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make an impact with colleagues at all levels

Ideally You Will Also Have:

Business partnership experience within an operational environment

Experience working constructively to deliver results through trade union relationships

Our Rewards:

As well as competitive salaries, we’re committed to providing a whole host of great benefits that make this an even more rewarding place to work. They include an excellent pension scheme, life assurance, access to private health insurance and a share in our success scheme. Not only that, when you get here, we’ll nurture your skills and do all we can to help you reach your full potential.

A career with us also means being part of an organisation that cares about the community. Our plan is to meet growing passenger demand in a sustainable way that creates a positive impact on our community – and the environment. That’s why, by 2030, we want at least half of all journeys to the airport to be made by public and sustainable transport. We have a range of initiatives designed to help people to get to and from work sustainably, from subsidised public transport through to car sharing and a Cycle to Work scheme.

Join us, and you’ll have everything you need to succeed and explore the countless career destinations that are available here.

As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from a diverse range of individuals. We believe that diverse talent makes us stronger – not least because we welcome passengers from all corners of the globe, every single day. At Heathrow we’re an accessible place to work, driven by inclusivity and celebrating individuality. For more information, please visit our diversity & inclusion page.
