Job Description

The role:

We are expanding our Information Security team and are looking for an Information Security officer to strengthen the team and support the Information Security Manager with the ongoing ISO27001 compliance.

Reporting to the Information Security Manager you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on security to ensure that the employees, data, devices, systems and network are adequately protected against current and future cyber threats.

You will be required to play a key role in monitoring effectiveness, completing assurance exercises and providing guidance to colleagues to raise awareness of Information Security and Cyber Security.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining information security policies and procedures.
  • Involvement in the information security incident process, including investigating or working with relevant teams to deal with the incidents, identify the root cause and amend policies when required.
  • Completing due diligence for 3rd parties.
  • Production of monthly effectiveness and vulnerability reports evaluating the adequacy of security controls for operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring all security issues assigned to information Security are resolved.
  • Assessing emerging and new external threats and provide guidance for any required mitigations.
  • Supporting the business in deployments of new technologies; assessing information security risks, security design, and solution evaluation.
  • Review monitoring tools for security monitoring purposes.
  • Assisting the Information Security Manager with maintaining security resilience and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with providing responsesin relation to information security queries.
  • Assisting with annual ISO information security audit and other independent verifications as required.

Qualifications

You are aninnovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces challenges. You haveexperience analysing and reporting on security vulnerabilities or working in the IT department implementing security controls.

Experience Requirement:
  • Experience of working in an IT function that has delivered a secure, robust, sustainable and cost-effective technology infrastructure.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience of IT security principles and best practice.
  • Understands the importance of Information security.
  • Understanding of security concepts and practices.
  • Understanding of systems architecture; cloud technologies; software development lifecycles; infrastructure, including in the areas of desktop/server/network device hardening; encryption & firewalls.
  • Experience in information security incident response (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the ISO27001 standard (Desirable)
