Overview of the role

If the Account Manager is the hub of the account team, the impresario who brings it all together, the Senior Account Manager is both an experienced and confident version of this role. They are the client's day to day senior partner in terms of delivery and are at ease handling larger or more complex projects. It is second nature for them to think ahead, spotting problems before they occur, managing client and internal expectations and contingency planning. They are solution focused. The Senior Account Manager will develop close relationships and a sense of partnership with their clients and foster trust based on their ability to deliver. This trust enables them to develop, nurture and protect the best work possible through the client process. Internally they have strong relationships with all departments and a thorough understanding of how they work and how to get the best out of them, empowering them as much as managing them. They are fluent in the strategic rationale behind work and can debate confidently on strategic matters. They are passionate about our creative product and know what best in class looks like both in terms of creativity and results.


Key competencies & responsibilities


•Has sound creative judgement, knowing what work is right for the brand

•Has demonstrated success at selling and defending creative ideas amongst mid-level clients

•Can independently lead creative and production process for wide range of comms executions

•Consistently demonstrates passion to achieve the very best creative product, no matter what stands in the way

•Takes pride in everything they and the agency do; responsibility for quality control stops here

Brands & Strategy

•Be strategically smart; able to understand the client brief and input into the development of strategic recommendations, channel recommendations and the creative brief

•Able to determine the effectiveness of creative work against the brief

•Appreciates the role of research and applies an understanding to support and guide ideas

•Understands and champions the integrated approach and is able to advise clients on the relevant disciplines and channels available to them

Business Skills

•Showcases a thorough understanding of the client's business, market and consumer and uses this to inform recommendations for the brand

•Regularly reviews and translates client data and the competitive market place to assist in the development of brand plans

•Responsible for campaign finances, and can negotiate campaign budgets with mid-level clients

•Has impeccable attention to detail - check, check and check again
