The Role

Junior ESG analyst

This position is required to produce ESG analysis at company, sector and thematic level globally and active ownership at company and collaborative level.

The Invesco Junior ESG analyst position is an opportunity to work closely with equity and fixed income investment teams to deliver ESG research and to engage in dialogue with corporates globally, across equities and fixed income. This is an opportunity to join a growing team at an exciting time in the Invesco responsible investment journey.

This role will report into a Senior ESG analyst.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing proprietary ESG company level research with emphasis on investment relevance.
  • Leveraging internal and external tools to produce research.
  • Generalist research coverage globally and across equities and fixed interest.
  • Producing sector level ESG analysis on specific areas of interest across investment teams
  • Monitoring company activities on an on-going basis and keeping abreast of event risks
  • Engaging in dialogue with companies on specific ESG related agenda items
  • Engaging with companies both at senior executive and non-executive board levels
  • Collaborating with other investors on thematic areas of interest via networks and forums
  • Analysing environmental and socially related shareholder resolutions
  • Effective internal dialogue with investment teams on ESG company and sector research as well as portfolio level view of ESG performance
  • Training on tools and systems on ESG and inputting to overall team effort on ESG research
  • Contributing to special projects and other team activities
  • Data governance
  • Provide any other assistance relating to the above or as reasonably required by the role.
  • Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco's Conduct principles

Key Requirements

Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years previous experience in producing ESG company level research and engagement with companies at a senior level
  • Demonstrated interest in ESG issues
  • Knowledge and prior use of ESG research tools
  • Strong knowledge of investment management in both equities and fixed income

Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum BSc with demonstrated interest in ESG matters
  • Investment Management Certificate is desirable
