This role is being offered as a 12 month secondment

Reporting to the Tax Technical Content Leader, and operating in a changing environment, the Tax Technical Author will be responsible for the update and design of tax technical learning content which can range from induction materials for new joiners, to Fundamental Principles and Intermediate curricula. The Tax Technical Author may also support the development of senior network events in a virtual environment.

This is a unique opportunity for a high performing Manager to work on innovative learning solutions, using and experimenting with technology particularly in the current environment. The secondment will allow you to strengthen your ability to explain complex tax technical concepts coherently, thereby enhancing your ongoing client advisory skills. You will gain an insight into adult learning theory, transferable to ongoing coaching interactions. You will be empowered to make a significant difference to the tax solutions offered to the practice.

The work undertaken and the specific projects you will be involved with will be predominantly corporate tax based but may include design solutions for other areas of the tax business. The training demands are driven by the needs of the business with input from and partnering with specialist tax networks. You will gain exposure to many parts of the tax practice and senior stakeholders.
The role

Responsible for applying tax technical knowledge and practical experience to develop learning solutions. This will include:
Designing and authoring Tax technical learning materials in partnership with experienced L&D professionals and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the business including:
  • content required to address new business requirements;
  • substantial tailoring of existing content in response to a changing working environment and the development of Learning Lab; and
  • updating existing content for tax technical developments.
  • Developing both categories of material and a range of modalities, producing materials for self paced study and tutor led delivery.
Requirements
  • Significant experience of working on a wide range of tax projects in the business, critically including corporate tax assignments
  • Experience of working with specialists across tax
  • Ability to work and operate within an environment of constant change
  • Strong tax technical skills and knowledge
  • Strong interest in L&D design and delivery, and a passion for people development
  • Experience of tutoring/facilitating Tax workshops
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as a track record of working professionally and collaboratively as part of a wider-team
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships across all grades
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, both in written and verbal form
  • Innovative and creative in approaching new challenges
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Effectively use online collaboration tools e.g. Google Suite
  • Curiosity towards and comfortable experimenting with new technology
