About the team

Talent and Development (T&D) is PwC's internal learning and development function. Our ambition is to be a world-class learning function, partnering with the business to deliver solutions which meet the needs of our people and help deliver the Firm's strategic priorities. The T&D's, Learning Design team are responsible for designing training to the business and are looking for an Author to join them in designing and delivering Professional Skills training across all our Lines of Service. The successful candidate will work with the wider Learning Design, Strategic Relationships and Learning Experience teams to deliver highly effective training content and learning design strategies using adult learning principles. They will work on a variety of projects alongside Lead Authors, to create and review relevant face-to-face or technology-enabled learning solutions, drawing on Subject Matter Experts as appropriate.
About the role

The key responsibilities of the role are to

• Apply foundation L&D design skills to generate training material for face-to-face or a range of technology-enabled delivery approaches
• Design and write non-technical learning materials in partnership with Lead Authors and other Subject Matter Experts
• Review materials to ensure the design meets the learning objectives and budget parameters and that there are appropriate evaluation interventions in place
• Training material will cover a range of subject matter and authoring may relate to o Original content required to address new business requirements; or o Substantial tailoring of existing content (to reflect changing business requirements or the need to change modality and / or delivery approach)
• Be customer focussed at all times - understanding their needs and keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions
• Engage with the latest external thinking and best practice in learning design
• Have an awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (i.e. copyright) requirements applicable to their activities

Essential skills and experience

The following skills are required for this role
  • Strong interest in L&D design and delivery, and application of 70 20 10
  • Innovative and creative in approaching new challenges
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as a track record of working professionally and collaboratively as part of a wider-team.
  • Excellent project management, organisational skills & budgetary experience and able to work to deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, both in written and verbal form
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Effectively use online collaboration tools e.g. Spark / Google@work/ WebEx
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt and work effectively in a changing environment
  • Commercially orientated - keeps commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions
