We are looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical, and inventive Manager of Learning and Development to help us make Amazon a place that customers love to shop. The Learning team will provide a variety of learning, performance support and career development offerings including technical training, new site and individual on boarding, management/leadership development and employee experience (EX) activities.

The Manager of L&D will establish a team of learning professionals to help build, coordinate and deliver a full curriculum of programs, including function-specific, Amazon corporate-led and externally-sourced content. The incumbent will work closely with the business stakeholders and operations leadership to set learning and EX strategy, align and develop resources, build and deliver programs, and evaluate effectiveness and impact. Coordination with corporate learning & development teams will be critical in order to influence and effectively use various learning technologies, including the learning management system, knowledge libraries and eLearning design/delivery.

Primary responsibilities include:
· Collaborate with business category and leadership teams to establish and communicate program management
· Build, mentor and coach a team of L&D professionals
· Align and develop resources to deliver results (subject matter experts, L&D team members, vendors, program budgets, technologies, etc.); lead learning and EX projects that require significant ingenuity and innovation to deploy
· Develop and experiment with new learning solutions and create intellectual property that advances the impact for learners; develop programmatic solutions with multiple connection points across offerings
· Build a comprehensive set of analytics to measure learning and EX effectiveness and impact
· Partner and support HR Business Partners with org-wide needs in coaching and developing leaders
· Communicate and guide access to programs; ensure key stakeholder understanding of the investment and impact of learning programs
· Ensure high quality, consistent and innovative approaches for delivering programs
· 10-20% travel to partner with dispersed teams, assess program impact and gain feedback

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the growth and success of every role within this organization. Candidates will have strong experience in managing learning, leadership development, technical training and employee experience across disparate teams. Experience is also required in program management and delivering in a blended learning environment including: eLearning, micro-learning, virtual training and distance learning methods, classroom/instructor-led training, and on-the-job training/mentoring.


· 5+ years of leadership experience managing training teams (with direct reports) and managing learning, leadership and/or professional development and employee experience programs; demonstrated effectiveness working with subject matter experts, learning councils and HR Business Partners
· Professional L&D qualifications or undergraduate degree in related field (management/business, human resources, education, communication, etc.)
· Strong background in the design and development of functional/technical training programs and curriculum materials for dispersed audiences; experience using knowledge management methods and references for individual and team performance support
· Experience working with industry standard Learning Management Systems (LMS) and reporting/measuring training results and learning impact; strong technical aptitude in the learning and development function
· Demonstrated expertise in program and project management around multiple, concurrent projects; includes process improvement efforts and strong change management capability
· Able to personally facilitate learning programs and create content as needed


· Excellent skills in organization, communication (written and verbal), presentation, analysis and problem solving, coaching and team development, judgment, project management, prioritization and flexibility; can successfully deal with a fast-paced environment with competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
· Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication and leadership skills; builds trusted advisory and partnering relationships across all parties.
· Ability to apply sound learning principles, agile methods, learning technology and program management skills together in the design, development and maintenance of learning programs
· Ability to design and use multiple, innovative, contemporary learning methods to match the subject matter and audience needs
