About the opportunity

Department Description

Financial Planning & Analysis team is responsible for providing financial analysis, information, forecasting and insight to senior leaders within, Technology, Operations, Investment Management and Corporate functions, as well as to the FIL board and the Global Operating Committee as a whole. The team is also responsible for corporate KPI and revenue, sales and assets reporting and for maintaining all revenue sales, assets and management accounts data globally.

Purpose of your role

Need a highly motivated Individual, who will be managing critical reporting for FIL's senior management , handling day to day data issues and acting upon various ad-hoc requests under tight timeframes. He/she would also be responsible for providing technical, systems and data support, working closely with India technology teams, business finance teams and regional sales teams across geographies.

He/she would have to ensure compliance to all agreed internal and external SLAs and requirements. Shall also be responsible for end to end support on global projects, changes and system enhancements within the agreed timelines. To this end, the individual will perform a variety of tasks including coordinating with various technology teams and stakeholders, planning and setting out data requirements, summarizing and communicating progress and status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with leadership, BU and sales leaders to synthesize key business requirements,work with technology to develop solutions, analyse their feasibility and support strategic acquisition of data sets.
  • Collaborate with various product/Project teams to understand the new fund offerings and provide/explain finance requirements key datasets to enable various BAU process and KPI reporting for Sales & assets, AUM and revenue teams.
  • Collaborate with business finance contacts to discuss new offerings and related KPI reporting requirement.
  • Assess the revenue and sales & assets recognition methodology for each new offerings by understanding the products and reviewing the legal contracts.
  • Collaborate with various technology teams involved in the launch of these offerinsgs to align on the strategic roadmap of onboarding the key data sets in FIL systems.
  • Collaborate with EMIS technology team to prioritize the consumption of these new data sets from upstream systems to support KPI reporting and revenue recognition.
  • Assess and develop tactical solution to consume and report on revenue, sales & assets data sets in the short term while strategic solution is put in place.
  • Work with revenue team and entity controllers to establish BAU process for revenue booking for each new offering.
  • Work with sales & assets team to gain SME insights into the process to determine process impacts with each new offerings.
  • Provide overview of new offerings to the revenue, sales & assets team.
  • Represent the Revenue, Sales & assets teams in various forums to provide update on the progress of these new offerings, escalate delays and seek required support.
  • Ensuring timely provision of key sales & assets metrics to senior management across FIL;
  • Reviewing and analysing the sales & assets numbers to ensure accurate internal & external reporting;
  • Liaise with stakeholders and counterparties to resolve exceptions in a timely and pro-active manner;
  • Managing monthly stakeholder calls, sharing functional updates and resolving issues raised;
  • Maintaining and developing new reports required by Business teams using OBI/Tableau;
  • Ensuring accurate recodes and adjustments are placed to the back-end, internal EDW system;
  • Creating, managing and maintaining databases for storage and easy retrieval of data;
  • The ability to use MS Excel/ MS Access and write macros in VB script for automating the processes, updating access databases and writing MS access, WebFocus, BI tool queries to load and retrieve data;
  • Providing ad hoc analysis, reports and presentations to the business under challenging time frames;
  • Participation in projects as required & performing periodic general administrative tasks.
  • Leading global projects and driving both system and process change proactively
  • Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams (Business, Finance, Marketing, IT, Sales)
  • Drive SSE Prioritization for sales and assets subject area.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Technical

  • Graduate or Post Graduate degree from a recognised university, preferably in finance and accounts. CA//MBA preferred.
  • 7 - 8 years' experience in a similar position, preferably within a global and / or a financial services company;
  • Sound analytical skills with an eye for details and an appetite to dive into issues in depth as needed;
  • High numeracy and able to co-relate data/ information
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages; Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access and power point with ability to write macros in VBA script.

  • Understanding of revenue standards.
  • Proven Project and Program management skills
  • Self-starter with a strong passion for using data to influence business decisions and strategy investments.
  • Proven impact and influence skills - ability to work broadly across disparate groups to gain agreement on direction, integrate disparate opinions into cohesive strategy/message and present/defend recommendations.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate uncertain situations to drive for clarity; work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-speed environment
