The Global Partner Strategy team is seeking an experienced people manager to manage a team of people responsible for a portfolio of complex, global projects to improve our vendor ecosystem, aligned with and driven out of the Scaled Operations organization, and help build out best-in-class project management capabilities. The right candidate will enjoy and thrive in working in a fast-paced environment and drive the same culture with the team of experienced project managers. The Strategic Planning lead is a critical leadership role to plan and optimize the strategic planning around our vendor ecosystem, a large-scale content moderation and AI learning operations across multiple vendors, geographies and sites globally in support of our community of billions of users. We are searching for a thought leader with deep domain expertise in strategic planning, outsourcing as well as extensive project management experience who can manage strategic vendor ecosystem initiatives in cooperation with the team of project managers as well as internal/external partners. Core responsibilities include ongoing steering for a portfolio of high-profile strategic projects across our vendor ecosystem against ambitious timelines and strategic objectives. A successful candidate will effectively influence strategic investments, roadmaps and budget planning to help build a world class vendor ecosystem to enable internal and outsourced teams to solve community issues at scale and support rapid new product launches. Hiring, developing and expanding the capabilities of a global team of project managers is another key aspect of this leadership role.

Required Skills

  • Steer the project portfolio, work with senior cross-functional stakeholders to propose optimal solutions, communicate strategy for the approach internally and towards FB and vendor partners, drive qualitative and quantitative analysis and track / ensure impact
  • Managing the vendor footprint portfolio in line with the overarching Scaled Operations partner strategy
  • Support business stakeholders by providing strategic perspective around site location & vendor strategy and driving execution of that strategy
  • Manage and prioritize business requests and projects on an ongoing basis, identify dependencies, reduce risks and drive the progress
  • Translate business requirements into project proposals including implementation plans, furthering our mission of protecting and supporting our Facebook community
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (such as Trust & Safety, Partner Operations, Quality, Learning, Global Outsourcing and Workforce Management) to enable a vendor ecosystem that help improve our community experience and support
  • Actively support the Global Outsourcing team with business requirements for contractual and commercial agreements as well as collaborating closely with our Partner operations team by providing groundwork and standards for operations management across various sites
  • Play an active role in improving processes, workforce strategies and support system solutions


Minimum Qualification

  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, or equivalent program management experience focused on operations-based projects and a strong track record in implementation of these projects.
  • Leadership skills in influencing and managing change. Ability to leverage knowledge and skills across multiple ongoing programs and stakeholders to drive change, motivate teams and deliver or support to deliver initiatives
  • People Management: 6+ years of proven track record of building, recruiting and developing high-performing talent and building strong team cultures including managing remotely across multiple locations
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully managing ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with internal and external cross-functional teams
  • Experience in vendor management or operational delivery leadership - such as recruiting, talent retention, training, quality, workforce management, reporting, process management, tooling, systems, contract management
  • Communication: influencing skills with global cross-functional leaders and external partners in multiple geographic regions
  • Budget Management: experience in managing budgets and commercial/analytical/quantitative and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and verbal communication skills
  • Ability for approximately 20% international travel


Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in managing mid- to large-scale footprint projects, ideally on a global base
  • Multiple years of experience in the outsourcing industry, either on client or delivery side
  • Familiarity with contract management and best practices
  • Experience in Managing teams on a global scale
