The human microbiome underpins the efficacy of brands like Lynx, Lifebuoy, Signal, Dove and CLEAR, and their ability to improve the wellbeing of people everywhere, every day. As an R&D microbiologist working at Unilever, you’ll be at the forefront of a global team of scientists working to translate the revolution in microbiological science into new product innovations and novel scientific insights. This is a fast moving and globally connected role, marrying basic and translational science with consumer awareness of the need for breakthrough, sustainable solutions to real problems impacting the everyday quality of life of billions of people around the world.
As globally orientated innovator with a curious mind, you will be part of a fast-moving team discovering novel insights and creating new technologies to deliver game-changing benefits through brands like Lynx, Signal, Dove and CLEAR. You’ll be working with leading thinkers from academia and industry to translate emerging science to on-shelf products used all over the world, while shaping your own career and professional development.
As an R&D microbiologist, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating the performance of new technologies, for delivering novel approaches for in-vivo insight generation and in-vitro measurement, and for proposing new partnerships with leading thinkers around the world.
- First degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Life Science or similar
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD) in a similar science area
- Passion for science
- Proven hands-on experience in microbiology
- Innovative thinker with a passion to learn and change the world around them
- Track record in in-vitro assay development
- Experience in molecular biology
- Experience in microbiome science
- Experience in in-silico methods (data analysis and bioinformatics)
