The Facebook office in Cork, Ireland (formerly Oculus Research) is currently recruiting for an experienced LED Test Engineer. At Facebook, we are developing the future of AR/VR displays. As an µLED Test Engineer, you will play an important role in a multi-disciplinary team developing and introducing new µLED displays, while determining and improving the performance of the product and its underlying technology. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, and able to find ways to help our cross functional teams to be more efficient. The successful candidate will be a self-starter along with analytical, project management and organizational skills.

MicroLED Test Engineer Responsibilities

  • Define, demonstrate, optimize, release, and support methods and algorithms for evaluation and production testing of uLED devices and arrays

  • Participate in vendor and in-house development of measurement equipment, software, and integration

  • Influence design, process, product, test and/or system solutions to meet display and system performance / yield goals

  • Lead and drive root cause analysis efforts concerning failed product to determine and implement corrective actions

  • Lead small cross-functional and cross-company groups of engineers on multi-disciplinary technical projects to solve complex test/characterization issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 4+ years of experience in the semiconductor test field is essential

  • Experience with Python for equipment control, machine vision, and data handling

  • Experience in the optoelectronic or display industry is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with III-V optoelectronics measurement, physics, and production

  • Experience with a range of measurement and failure analysis equipment/methods

  • Experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g. JMP, Matlab, R, or Minitab)

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information to non-experts
