As a Manager in Procurement, you'll work as part of our team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

You will be part of a highly skilled, specialist team within a wider group of Operations professionals. At the same time, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas to take to our clients. Our highly motivated team have an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major international clients and has ambitious growth plans for the next few years.

We are currently recruiting at Manager level for this team based in either London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow or Edinburgh

Essential skills & experience required (direct buying)
  • Extensive buying experience across a number of direct to consumer categories gained from a Retail or Consumer business (food or non food)
  • Experience developing and successfully executing category strategies and plans including range reviews, promotions and stock that are aligned with the overall business commercial objectives
  • Supplier relationship management experience
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of delivering significant cost out across the end to end value chain
  • Experience of developing and implementing new product ranges which are aligned to customer needs and trends is desirable
  • Experience managing others
  • Adaptable and with an innovative approach to their work
  • Can effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with different audiences
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and report writing skills
  • Project management experience
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent

Essential skills & experience required (GNFR procurement)
  • Extensive procurement experience gained from industry roles within Retail and Consumer or from consulting
  • Experience of managing a range of different goods not for resale categories, across the end to end procurement lifecycle; category planning, opportunity assessment, negotiation, supplier management, contract management
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of delivering significant cost out
  • Experience of delivering procurement transformation projects including cost out; design of procurement operating modes; the systems and technology required to support along with supporting change management required
  • Experience and understanding of digital procurement technologies and the marketplace
  • Experience managing others
