As an Operations Manager within Land and Property at HS2 you will help improve consistency, efficiency and effectiveness of the Acquisitions team with a focus on the stakeholder experience.

The purpose of the role is to improve the capability of the Acquisitions team and supply chain through the development and implementation of systems, processes and policies. The role will also ensure affected parties' experience of HS2 is continually improved whilst also improving the reputation of Land and Property and HS2 Ltd.

About the role:
  • Assist with the implementation, refinement and improvement of the systems necessary to acquire and/or possess the land required for the railway
  • Work with the Acquisitions Team to develop and refine the processes, policies and Health and Safety procedures for the timely acquisition of land and in a manner that is sympathetic to those affected
  • Support the development and implementation of a Learning and Development programme for the Acquisitions team to ensure continual improvement in capability and compliance with professional CPD requirements
  • Improve the collaboration between the Acquisitions team and Strategic Suppliers to ensure suppliers' behaviours and activities are coordinated and outputs are delivered within agreed quality, cost and time targets
  • Lead on short term business priority projects to further the acquisition team's suite of policies and processes
  • Partnering with the Acquisitions team to give direction and assure the business cases for strategic acquisition
  • Build relationships within a matrix organisation to leverage support for the wider operations strategy.

About You:
  • Stakeholder management and influencing
  • Interfacing with teams to ensure smooth flow of information
  • Ability to access, analyse and maintain information from multiple IT databases and systems.
  • Experiencing of managing own projects and workload independently
  • Experience of working with teams to develop effective working relationships and manage performance to ensure delivery - deliver workstream around PM piece
  • Experience of managing a process within a technical discipline.
  • The post-holder is expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect
