Main purpose of the role:

Providing paralegal support to the commercial development and investment team, particularly helping manage larger projects

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

General Administrative duties and some legal transactional work including:

· Assisting team generally particularly in administration and management of large projects (including preparation for and assisting team on client conference calls and meetings, and attending to take minutes), working to deadlines in accordance with agreed procedures.

· Portal Management – setting up and maintaining client portals with all current documentation and liaising with the team and client on this. Managing log-ins for client/their team and third parties.

· Deeds management - maintaining complete and accurate records of deeds received into the team and despatched back to clients or third parties. Updating portals alongside physical deeds management.

· Undertaking billing/ summaries on larger projects.

· Running and maintenance of lower value legal matters under supervision of the team including drafting documents, billing, liaison with clients and other firms of solicitors and agents.

· Liaison with other sections of the team/group on the above.

· Research on ad hoc matters.

· Assisting the team generally on ad hoc matters.

· Obtaining copies of entries and documents from Land Registry and carrying out searches and other land registry dealings as required by the team members from time to time.

· Assisting with acquisitions and disposals, including lease reporting, and dealing with enquiries.

· The applicant may have the opportunity to expand the role with experience and to take on more responsibility.?

· Any other reasonable duties delegated by any Partner, Senior Manager or Practice Operations Manager of the firm.


Key Skills and Experience:

· Some experience of working in a legal environment, focussing on the Real Estate sector would be preferable but not essential.

· An understanding of the procedural elements of commercial property transactions gained either in a practical legal environment or during academic legal training.

· Experience of developing strong working relationships with colleagues and working as part of a team.

Standard hours of work are 9.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch (35 hours per week). A degree of flexibility will be required for this role together with the requirement for travel in the UK.
