Patient Representative

Job Reference: J336-A-20-0185

Employer: Location: Norwich Salary: Competitive

The views of patients, carers and the public matter to Norwich Primary Care Network. We want to involve them, as well as doctors, nurses, other healthcare professionals and managers and consider their views in the decisions we make. This enables the development of services which better meet the health needs of our community.

The role of the PCN Patient Representative is to ensure that the voice of patients, carers and the public is taken into consideration when decisions are made that affect patient care. We spend a lot of time talking to patients about the care they and their families receive. The feedback we receive is shared with the commissioners and clinicians responsible for making strategic decisions.

The post holder will work closely with the Primary Care Network and other local provider organisations (e.g. social prescribers and community services) to develop a good understanding of what matters to patients and how patients think services within primary care should be changed or delivered. The PCN Patient Representative will take an active role in meetings with local PPG's, wider PPG's within the STP, and commissioners to ensure patient feedback is considered at every stage of the decision-making process. The post holder will operate in an advisory role to the PCN, ensuring that it continues to develop in line with the Maturity Matrix.

The PCN Patient Representative does not need any qualifications, but experience of working with a PPG within Norwich is recommended. This is a part time role with flexibility offered in terms of hours.

Expressions of interest in this role should be submitted to accompanied with a short description of how the individual has been active within their practice PPG by Friday 23rd October.
