There really has never been a more exciting time to join us at Basildon Hospital; Basildon, Southend and Broomfield sites have merged together to form Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Together we provide care for 1.2 million people in central and south Essex.

Your day to day duties will include:

  • General cleaning duties within designated areas, including cleaning of toilets and bathrooms on a daily basis.
  • Vacuuming, damp dusting, cleaning of surfaces and mopping of floors to the standard stated in the cleaning specification for the area. Deep cleaning of any infected area's.
  • The cleaning of beds and the remaking with clean linen.
  • Collect clinical and non-clinical waste and take it to the designated collection point.
  • Receipt and regeneration of cook-chill food according to specification.
  • The distribution of meals and drinks in an attractive manner maintaining hygiene standards at all times.
  • The after meal cleaning service, washing-up and using sterilizer.

Our staffs work in various parts of the hospital environment, wards, offices, clinics, corridors and more specialized areas such as Theatres.

You will need to be reliable, have excellent communication skills and a drive to improve the patient experience. You will need to be reasonably fit and able to follow instructions in verbal written form. Literacy is important.
