A little bit about our team
The Global Acquisitions Team sits at the heart of the channels business, acquiring brilliant programmes for our UKTV and international branded services. We are a team of 14 working across 45+ Free TV, Pay TV and streaming services.

The personal assistant will also be supporting the Channel Directors who are each responsible for the editorial direction of the UKTV channels.

In this role you will get to...
  • Provide first class support to the Global Head of Acquisitions and UKTV Channel Directors.
  • Have complete responsibility for efficient diary management, ensuring the effective juggling of commitments & priorities.
  • Is a vital point of contact and a key liaison & conduit of information between the GHoA, Channel Directors and other senior leaders / managers and members of the team and external contacts.
  • Attend and play a proactive role in the Global Acquisitions Team forums, assisting the GHoA in managing relevant meetings; including capturing & circulating key actions & decisions.
  • Organises all meetings both internally and externally; including calendar management, agenda circulation, ensuring key attendees are present, preparing any necessary documentation.
  • Arrange venue hire and travel where necessary, including overseas travel for the Global Acquisitions Team.
  • Be proactive in adapting to different needs and suggesting new and innovative procedures, approaches, and ways of working to solve departmental challenges and pressure points for the GHoA, Channel Directors and the wider team.
  • To help harness and foster team spirit, including the organisation of team events and activities.
  • Use the Core HR system to a) collate and process expenses on behalf of the GHoA and Channel Directors, and b) organise and approve holiday requests & sickness days for the team, on behalf of the GHoA.
  • Provide top-level, light touch T&E tracking & reporting for the total group in aggregate, with support from Finance; in order to give the GHoA an overview of spend & activity across the whole team.
  • Ad hoc involvement in special projects as required.
  • Providing ad hoc PA cover to other teams within the business as and when necessary.

We are looking for someone who is..
  • Experienced in providing PA support at a senior level, in large and complex team structures; dealing at times with highly sensitive & confidential information.
  • Proactive and confident; willing to speak candidly and constructively challenge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate clearly and concisely with people at all levels across the business internally and externally.
  • Strong, demonstrable administration and IT skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft packages and an advanced understanding of MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments and services.
  • Inspires trust & confidence amongst colleagues.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of the various business sensitivities and reflects this in their approach to problems and issues that arise.
  • Proactive and flexible; comfortable working in a dynamic business environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy and a highly conscientious approach to work.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills. The ability to prioritise and plan for self and others.
  • Comfortable with meeting deadlines under pressure, when faced with high volume of work and multiple, conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge, skills and processes quickly.
