The Planning Engineer is required to develop the most appropriate method and sequence of project activities, in conjunction with Project Management, in order to ensure the project is completed timely, safely and on budget. 

Schedules, plans and oversees the entire program of work 
Plans, organises and coordinates planning activities 
Selects the most appropriate techniques and logical sequence of activities to complete project scope 
Inputs the work breakdown structure information in menas to assess an accurate forecast on time, resources and cash flow of the project 
Determines appropriate logistics solution in managing resources 
Set up alerts fo all important contractual and milestone dates 
Verifies critical path and interfaces between design/engineering/procurement/execution 
Monitors progress periodically and compares it with the baseline planning 
Update the schedule based on inputs receivd from the project team 
Prepares weekly and monthly reports to the internal teams as well as to the Client 
Accumulates, collects and analyses data and information required for planning 

Strong numerical and data analysis skills 

Ability to use Primavera P6 and other software 
Ability to apply IT systems relevant to controls 
Proficient is use of MS Office programs 
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
A good team player 
Interpersonal skills 
Extensive attention to detail 
Ability to present facts clearly and simply 
Ability to collaborate effectively with others to develop plans and strategies 

Qualifications

Experience working with Primavera P6 
Understanding of techniques for project planning, risk management and cost control 
3-5 years experience working with a large main contractor in a similar post 

Construction or related discipline degree or diploma 
Membership of relevant professional body are preferred but not essential
