As a PMO and Reporting Analyst at HS2 you will lead on the reporting activities for the Commercial Development Directorate which includes collecting, verifying and analysing data to produce high quality reports. This role will support the Head of Commercial Development Services with embedding appropriate programme controls, risk management processes to effectively monitor the performance of the team.

About the role:

  • Implement and manage an effective reporting cycle ensuring data is captured, verified and analysed in a timely manner. Ensure the reporting arrangements are communicated clearly across the business, so employees understand how and when reports are generated and used, and what inputs need to be provided, and when
  • Lead on producing all reports which includes Programme Review Board, functional Commercial Development SLT report and governance or ad hoc reports
  • To ensure data quality in all data sources so reports are produced to a high standard
  • Support the development of key systems to deliver automation where possible.
Programme Management:
  • To create, monitor and update the Programme Plans across Commercial Development Directorate
  • Support the team by embedding ways of working and providing tools to help maintain programmes
  • To lead on the annual programme setting process from supporting workshops to agreeing plans with the Commercial Development SLT
  • Embed effective change control processes to ensure changes to activities and milestones are approved at the required level
  • To maintain programme plans in Microsoft Project and manage the interface with P6.
Risk Management:
  • Assist the team in the identification, capture and management of risks and opportunities. Work closely with each team member to regularly review and update risks, holding risk workshops when required
  • Manage and maintain all Commercial Development and MDP risk registers on Xactium
  • Liaise with our Risk Management team to ensure that the team are aligned to best practice and HS2 Risk Management Policy. Undertake role as risk champion and represent the function in these forums.

  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.


About You:
  • Relationship Management: Ability to develop effective relationships to achieve quality outcomes
  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Working Collaboratively: Ability to work collaboratively across the Commercial Development Directorate and with the wider business
  • IT Skills: IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel and other project management tools
  • Understanding of best practice project management processes and controls
  • Awareness of risk management procedures and processes
  • Understanding of decision-making processes and the associated need for concise and effective programme reporting
  • Experience of creating and managing programme plans effectively using Microsoft Project and Primavera 6 (P6) to support performance management
  • Experience of creating dashboards and reports using Excel (or equivalent) and delivering reports on time and to a high quality
  • Experience of risk management and embedding effective processes
  • Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and producing reports for a senior audience
