Portfolio Manager: Tax - 12 month secondment

Reporting to the Tax Strategic Relationship Leader, the Portfolio Manager for Tax will work as part of the Tax Strategic Relationships team to provide a single, coordinated point of contact to manage the Learning & Development (L&D) relationships for learning programmes across the Tax business, ensuring these L&D solutions meet current and future LoS requirements.

The role:
Responsible for supporting the shaping of the L&D agenda for Tax, understanding the Tax business' strategic priorities, determining how learning and development interventions can support the achievement of them, and working across L&D to help deliver these interventions.

Key aspects of this role will include:
  • Operating as a business partner and engaging with key business stakeholders across the LoS to obtain an understanding of the training needs for Tax, working closely with the wider Tax Strategic Relationships Team
  • Being jointly-accountable for delivery of the annual Tax L&D portfolio, i.e. the Book of Work
  • Working with other L&D Teams to ensure that all planned Tax L&D activity is implemented and achieved
  • Analysing various strategic, operational and evaluation reporting at both curriculum and programme level
  • Discussing analysis with key stakeholders and appropriate parties within L&D to produce recommendations, an improvement plan and oversee any resulting activity
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate suitable knowledge of Learning and Development tools and requirements
  • Experience in the Tax business would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in Learning and Development / Training / Tutoring would be helpful, along with the ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of current methodologies
  • Operate with a global mind-set, demonstrating commercial acumen and an understanding of the firm's business priorities
  • Goal orientated - maintains focus on agreed objectives and deliverables
  • Commercially orientated - keeps commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions
  • Ability to lead and develop self and others to provide a distinctive and sustainable L&D service to the firm
  • Communicate confidently and effectively to all levels
  • Assimilate complex data and information objectively to inform recommendations
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Plan strategically and can translate vision and strategy into clear, actionable objectives
  • Work professionally and collaboratively as part of the wider team to create value for the firm
  • Demonstrate resilience and delivery under pressure
