A continuously changing and evolving risk landscape means the NHS in Wales faces new and unfamiliar challenges. While the NHS is often ready to respond to these challenges, the support provided by the Audit & Assurance Service helps give Chief Executives and Boards the assurance that their risk management, control processes and governance arrangements are ready to meet these demands.

Audit and Assurance services is a division of NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). We deliver a professional internal audit, assurance and consulting service to the NHS in Wales.

We have around 60 skilled staff delivering over 400 reviews annually, across all 12 organisations that form NHS Wales, supporting organisational governance and improvement. So, there is a real opportunity to make a difference by getting involved in reviews across a diverse range of areas in our flexible working environment.

Due to an increase in the demand for our audit and assurance services, we are looking to grow our teams to develop a structure that can support the delivery of our plans.

While we have an increasing focus on data and IT, we also consider culture, behaviours and clinical quality, so your work will be varied and interesting, with a clear link to helping organisations ensure patient safety.
