The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Strategy team lead the development of the organisational vision, strategy and project to aid the robust management of occupational health and wellbeing. Leading and being a part of the strategy team means you will be acting as the company expert on all occupational health and wellbeing issues, and providing assurance that appropriate strategies, policies and controls to address risks and opportunities are being successfully developed and implemented. This is a vital role that can truly make a lasting difference to the organisation and wider railway industry.
Brief Description
What will you be doing?

As part of this exciting role within Technical Authority, you will work within a dedicated team to deliver a high-profile and far reaching Occupational Health & Wellbeing in line with our strategic commitment within our Back to Basics strategy. You'll provide leadership to a team of Senior Occupational Health Specialists and oversee the long-term implementation of the strategic roadmap with relevant business leads, develop appropriate policies and procedures to guide work practises, conduct research to identify best practice controls and interventions, determine necessary measures and processes to monitor risk and performance, manage third-party national health service providers, and lead interaction with internal and external stakeholders on strategic occupational health and wellbeing matters.

This a is a multifaceted role where every day is different, but some of the activities you will be required to undertake will include;

Leading on the provision of expert advice, input and support on the application and management of health and wellbeing for our customers and suppliers and inputting into formal investigations, incidents and operational issues. Represent Network Rail externally to the industry and input to issues as required, speaking on and publishing in relevant platforms. Provide direction for health and wellbeing analysis, design and risk assessment in the health and safety management system. Support the setting of policy and standards, operational processes and systems. Manage the design and delivery of programmes for the development of technical capability and non-technical skills required within the Company, including competence frameworks, selection and training materials. Lead strategy within the health and wellbeing capability area for development required knowledge, tools and approaches to health and wellbeing in liaison with experts internally and externally including regulatory bodies. Lead the provision and interpretation of comprehensive, high quality business management information analysis and reporting services to the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Occupational Health & Wellbeing Strategy.

Skills and experiences required:

Below are just some of the requirements needed for this role, for a full list of essential and desirable skills and experiences, please click apply and see the attached job description:

• Registered Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner with proven experience of Railway Occupational Health or a relevant Occupational Health and Wellbeing undergraduate degree or equivalent.

• Experience in researching and delivering occupational health and knowledge in industrial domains

• Extensive experience of leading the application of health and wellbeing in complex system, product and process developments

While it's not essential we'd love it if you have:

• Advanced degree (MSc or better) in a relevant subject

• Tactical and strategy level experience working in an industrial domain

• Recognised internally and externally as having extensive technical, theoretical and applied knowledge in the industrial application of ergonomics

•Salary: Band 2A £56,067 - £63,075 per annum

• You should live within 90 minutes of The Quadrant, Milton Keynes but other locations may be considered on a case by case basis.
