The Automated Inventory Management (AIM) Business Insights team is looking for a passionate, results and customer oriented technical leader in the EU to join our quest. We are part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization, who own Amazon's global inventory management systems, decide and optimize what, when, where, and how much we buy (or remove) to meet Amazon's business goals and to make our customers happy. Our systems are built entirely in-house and are on the cutting edge of automated, large-scale business inventory and supply chain planning and optimization systems.

Our Team's charter is develop anomaly detection and optimization products and tools, helping to ensure that SCOT systems achieve the best possible business outcome. We build semi-automated and touchless deep learning alarms, monitoring and intervention mechanisms connecting the dots across various complex Supply Chain systems. We automate short-term interventions that optimize current and future status of inventory outcomes and work with respective SCOT system teams to address the root cause in future feature and system development. We drive improvements for customer through better availability and business improvements through maximizing LTFCF.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to raise the bar for our business intelligence and data science capabilities, driving product innovations. Data and Insights form the backbone for decision making at Amazon and we need a thought-leader to drive analytical rigor and advance the maturity of the BI and DS Function of our team. As a member of one of the two SCOT teams operating from EU, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the SCOT teams in the US as well as stakeholders from EU Retail, OPS and our Development Team in India. We are based in the EU, however our tools and systems support countries WW including emerging markets. You will work as a subject matter expert, with the potential to move into a manager role.

The ideal candidate is creative, demonstrated product ownership with superior analytical abilities. The candidate is passionate about technology and wants to solve real business problems. Strong attention to detail is a must and you will need to be able to manage prioritization and communication across multiple stakeholder groups. You will work hand-in-hand with business partners, understand their needs and are able to translate business necessities into value-added features. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, pave the way for innovation, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Define product development strategy and framework, build the road map and delivery timeline
End to end ownership diving deep into anomalies, discovering issues, root causing them, and working with the SCOT and Retail teams to get these resolved
Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products.
Research, develop, document and present new optimisation strategies to the retail and SCOT organizations
Develop new metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall inventory performance as required
Work with the WW AIM PM and Software teams to develop new features, tools and products


Basic qualifications
· 7+ years product or program management experience (or equivalent)
· Experience setting product definitions and roadmaps
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science
· Able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach
· Excellent technical, problem-solving, stakeholder interaction and communication skills
· Have relentlessly high standards
· Think strategically, but stay on top of tactical execution
· Results oriented and ability to Think Big


Preferred qualifications
· Master's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science
· Experience working with a complex international inventory or supply chain management organization
· Familiar with AWS and machine learning
· Highly skilled in data and math/stats methods (e.g., scaling, modeling, algorithms).
· Experience effectively managing relationships at senior levels (VP, SVP, C-level)
