Job description

The Global Technology Procurement team is responsible for the development and execution of the procurement strategies which best support the Business and Technology strategies at the PwC network level, including the negotiation of global supplier agreements which benefits the PwC member firms, proactive supplier risk mitigation and value optimization.
The team is aligned to the Technology organization and supports both the Global Technology team, the Lines of Service (Assurance, Tax, Advisory), Network Information Security and regional Technology teams.

The Procurement Manager supports a range of stakeholders around the world through the procurement process by leading the following activities:
  • Manage a large number of contract negotiations, renewals and statements of work: guide internal users through the process of supplier selection through to commercial and contract negotiation. Ensure compliance to the procurement process and escalate risks early. Follow established guidelines for procuring from suppliers who are also clients and go to market partners of PwC globally.
  • Proactive supplier risk mitigation: Provide a balanced view of all types of supplier risk (including geographical, financial, performance related, information security, geopolitical and corporate social responsibility/regulatory compliance risks) and work with stakeholders (Global Risk, Network Information Security and Global Office of General Counsel) to mitigate these.
  • Procurement strategy: Work with business and Technology teams to develop the right procurement strategy for each project, ensuring it is in line with the business and technology long term objectives and provides optimum value for money whilst maximizing service and innovation. Provide sourcing options to Technology leadership to gain buy in.
  • Client orientation and alignment: Cultivate strong working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and clients to understand the business drivers and priorities and develop joint sourcing plans that deliver the best outcomes across the PwC network.
  • Value Optimization: Use research, negotiation skills and benchmarking to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership and provide a careful assessment of cost, service and risk. Ensure we leverage the size and scale of the PwC network of member firms whilst focusing on consolidation of suppliers and simplification of the IT estate.
  • Follow internal processes: Provide accurate and up to date reporting on projects using the team's tools and contract database.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Procurement professional qualification/membership - desired.
  • Meets deadlines and works well under pressure with limited supervision.
  • Can multi-task and manage time efficiently to oversee between 15 and 20 projects at any time
  • Is well-organized and maintains a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good Financial and Quantitative data analysis: able to review proposals and negotiates using complex commercial models
  • Ability to clearly communicate analysis results verbally and in written form.
  • Good at managing internal and supplier communication with results-driven mentality, focusing on tasks and knowing when to escalate issues
  • Experience in a technology procurement team in a global organization
  • Experience of negotiating technology contracts for a variety of IT products and services.
  • Good understanding of professional services and software/SaaS agreements and contractual models and risks
  • Comfortable working in a team-based environment with remote stakeholders.
  • Experience of negotiating global agreements and understanding of data privacy challenges and European regulations
The following experience is desirable:
  • Experience working in the professional services industry.
  • Experience working in global networked/decentralized decision-making environment.
