We are looking for a Project Accountant to work onHS2 Main Works. In this role, you will be responsible for the Project's variousVAT and CIS reporting requirements. The role has direct line managerresponsibilities for the plant invoicing team and must ensure this functionwithin the finance team operates effectively. The role reports directly to the SeniorProject Accountant.

***Initially this role is one day per week with aview to being full time hours in Summer 2021***

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Accounting - Integrity of costs and accuracy & transaction processing
  • Financial control, Governance, segregation of duties & process flows
  • Maintenance of sound financial controls, in line with JV guidelines, ensuring that all applicable requirements can be met at all times
  • General administration of finance information anddata, ensuring records are maintained for an adequate period, kept securely andsufficient information is kept to meet group requirements.
  • Plant processing function operates effectively
  • Project's various VAT reporting requirements are met
  • Subcontract management (payments and liabilities only)
  • Payments within the finance system
General Duties
  • VAT reporting for the project is submitted in a timely manner and all records are maintained by the project
  • Provide a key link between the finance and stores teams
  • Monthly PMU reporting on plant invoices and subcontractors

Ihre Qualifikationen

Required qualifications, skills, behaviours and attributes

  • Qualified by experience or 2 years PQE Accountant with a recognised professional body (eg ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experience in a project based finance team within the construction, infrastructure or similar industry
  • Excel, IT & Communication Skills
  • Competent in retrieving and understanding data from the chosen timesheet system
  • Good attention to detail
  • Takes ownership of output
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Self-confident
  • Knowledge of Oracle E1 accounting system
  • Previous experience managing a team
