We are looking for a Project Controls Manager to head up the Project Controls element for the project team embedded into the team onsite.

The role is responsible for setting and maintaining the performance measurement baseline (PMB) position and measuring against actual performance for projects within a fixed drumbeat of activity on a regular basis.

Security clearance is highly desirable; ability to obtain SC is essential.

What will I be doing?

You will be responsible for directing and integrating using matrix management of the PC Functional team, in collaboration with Delivery Managers, for all aspects of:

  • Earned value management
  • Cost management
  • Cost estimating
  • Scheduling; and
  • Risk management
  • Others deemed necessary to gain a holistic view of the project

It is responsible for providing the project managers with analysis of progress against the PMB and support the APM in driving agreed recovery actions and plans where necessary.

The role will support the APM Contract Review meeting and Alliance reporting reviews such as the AMR where required

The role has significant responsibility for management of other Project Controls employees in a matrix function and must be able to guide and coach others, interpret complex data and conflicting information, and strategically advise and influence senior stakeholders on complex strategic issues regarding project performance. The PCM will act as the link between all other PC roles in the Alliance and related Industrial Parties in order to bring together the required performance data for analysis and presentations.

The role requires both leadership experience, stakeholder management and technical experience in order to work across the functional areas required.

About you
  • Extensive experience in highly complex project management environments, including planning/scheduling, cost management, contract management, change management: preferably in industrial, manufacturing and/or high-tech industries
  • Ability to lead project controls effort within an operational area of the business to meet organisational objectives
  • Comprehensive understanding of Work Breakdown Structure and project coding structures and ability to implement cost management work processes on projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of estimating methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment.
  • Software systems and packages including Primavera P6, ARM, Cobra EVM system
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
