The Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the SCS Project Controls Business Intelligence (BI) platform based in the iTWO and Power BI software, coordinating the activities required for the implementation of several Business Intelligence and reporting systems liaising with the client HS2, SCS project teams, and the iTWO Vendor.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Timely delivery of the SCS Project Controls BI platform and all dashboarding and reporting requirements ensuring delivery effort is prioritised across teams with frequent reporting of progress to all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the SCS Project Controls BI platform aligned to HS2 overall project controls reporting requirements and data strategy.
  • Working with SCS functional departments to produce control and reporting requirements and collaborate with related vendors to create an integrated data structure for Project Controls reporting.
  • Project management and control of the implementation of the iTWO software
  • Liaising closely with IT personnel to ensure that all required interfaces between SCS functional systems are delivered on time to enable the iTWO implementation and supports the ongoing development and maintenance of the corporate data warehouse.
  • Coordinating the import of the project's programme to ensure alignment between the cost estimate and the WBS structure to set the initial baseline environment in iTWO
  • Working closely with the reporting specialists to implement effective reporting tools: Power Bi, SQL, iTWO, etc.
  • Responsible for the delivery of user training packages for the SCS Project Controls BI platform to enable efficient information update and high quality reports and dashboards.
  • Revising and improving reporting processes and procedures to achieve project's goals
  • Managing Health and Safety within legal and SCS policies
  • Compliance with HS2 and SCS IT policy
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Experience of implementing project controls and business intelligence information systems for performance control and reporting within large constructions projects / organisations managing multiple stakeholders and interfaces.

  • Project Management Skills for implementation and integration of complex IT systems
  • Demonstrable expeirrence in the development of reporting and dashboarding solutions to a diverse set of stakeholders in a fast paced environment
  • Skilled in mainstream BI tools (including but not limited to Power BI)
  • Strong leadership skills to solve problems and achieve project outcomes
  • Self-Starter, able to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Strong communicator able to present clear issues to HS2 and SCS senior management
  • Effective stakeholder's management across project teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
