The Project:

Skanska is the Delivery Integration Partner (DIP) on Highways England's Regional Development Partnership (RDP) Framework within the Midlands and East Regions. This currently includes two high profile schemes with a combined value of over £1bn and a pipeline of future schemes in each region. At the heart of our approach for delivering successful scheme outcomes and framework objectives is having the right people at the right time and creating an environment that promotes integration and collaboration across individuals and organisations.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with demonstrable capability and achievement within the Highways sector, with experience working on complex, high-value and high-profile projects. You should be able to provide strategic direction and strong leadership of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Health and Safety, Commercial, Operational, Engineering, Financial and Administrative resources at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To be present and visible on the project and to lead by example through clearly communicating the RDP vision, our "Values and Behaviours", and by 'walking the talk' as project lead. To ensure these "Values and Behaviours" are embedded throughout the project. Lead the development of Client and Supply Chain Relationships.
  • To create one integrated team with all partners working together - Skanska, H.E (Highways England) Designer (Mott Macdonald), Technical Assurance (Arcadis), and supply chain partners.
  • To lead the creation of an Injury Free Environment on the scheme.
  • To provide clear communication regularly to everyone working on the project.
  • To drive the Successful delivery and handover of the Project in accordance with the Company's Procedures, Management Systems and Performance Targets. Support project leadership team and PD to build the Business in accordance with the "Strategy Plan".
  • Champion the delivery of the right first time and ensure the Quality of delivery is promoted through the integrated team.
  • To Create, Build and Develop suitably experienced teams for the benefit of the Company and the Project.
What we are looking for:
  • Previous Highways construction project leadership experience is essential.
  • Operational knowledge of highways projects is also essential.
  • Able to demonstrate a successful record of accomplishment as an inclusive and inspiring leader.
  • Able to demonstrate successful delivery of previous high-profile/high-value projects against budget and targets.
