On April 1st 2016 Greater Manchester took charge of our Health and Social Care. The GM Health and Social Care Partnership is the body made up of the 37 NHS organisations and councils in the city region, which is overseeing devolution and taking charge of the £6bn health and social care budget.

Our vision is "to deliver the greatest and fastest possible improvement to the health and wellbeing of the 2.8 million people of Greater Manchester".

The Bringing Back Staff (BBS) programme was a Covid-19 response initiative led by NHS England and Improvement and supported by a wide range of national and local partner organisations.

Nationally, over 47,000 clinical staff offered to return to work and approximately 4,000 within the North West have been processed across a range of professions including Medics, Nursing, Allied Health Professionals, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Health Care Science and Healthcare Support Workers.

There are 3 Phases to the programme:
  • Phase 1: Deployment / employment of BBS candidates
  • Phase 2: Transition arrangements and ongoing management of BBS candidates
  • Phase 3: Design and delivery of the regional model in response to regional workforce implications
Now that the programme is at Phase 2 of its journey, the North West BBS team require a Project Support Officer to support the ongoing demand of the programme and be the heart of our Programme team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a good understanding of healthcare and project support/management who can demonstrate their knowledge and experience in this field of work. You will work closely with the Programme Lead and other internal and external stakeholders. You will need to be comfortable with a combination of collaborative and independent working.

The post is available to the 31st March 2021 in the first instance. Applications are particularly welcomed on a secondment basis and will require support of your current employing organisation.
