We are seeking a Policy Manager for our Content Regulation Team to help shape the company's approach to harmful content regulation. Candidates should have expertise in content and media regulatory issues and/or law, experience working on platform policy issues (including intermediary liability and other communications and media policy issues), and strong knowledge of digital economy and internet policy issues. They should also have excellent writing and analytical skills and share our vision of bringing the world closer together.This role is full-time and will be based in London, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland OR Brussels, Belgium.

Public Policy Manager, Content Regulation Responsibilities

  • Develop policy positions on harmful content regulation including on emerging regulatory frameworks such as those set out by the European Commission in the Digital Services Act and by the UK government's proposals for the UK Online Harms Bill

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze these policy issues at the international level

  • Articulate our positions on these policy issues in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings

  • Advise Facebook business and product teams on these policy matters to guide development of products and services

  • Represent Facebook in meetings with key stakeholders, including civil society groups, government officials, and academics

  • Communicate Facebook's positions in public presentations

  • Support efforts across Facebook and Instagram to enhance our accountability through consultation, oversight, and transparency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Content, online speech, and media policy experience

  • Familiarity with national or international policy proposals or frameworks for addressing harmful content online

  • An understanding of the EU policy-making environment

  • Experience in or working with the technology industry

  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities

  • Experience planning and executing cross-functional initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience planning and executing multi-company initiatives

  • Experience with international policymaking institutions and organizations (EU, ASEAN, G7, etc.)

  • Experience w/ multi-stakeholder negotiations
