Facebook is seeking a strategic thinker to join our MENA & Turkey Public Policy team as a public policy Manager. You will work on issues related to the Internet and Facebook's mission of giving people the power to build community and bringing the world closer together. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding Facebook's policies and business priorities, being able to communicate those to policymakers and stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business and the globe, engage with trade associations and third party groups.

Public Policy Regulatory Affairs Manager, MENA & Turkey Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to address regulatory challenges and opportunities across the region, and advise on engagement opportunities, regulatory content development, regional and global best practices and thought leadership

  • Work collaboratively and seamlessly with peers in the MENA and Turkey geography as well as policy subject matter experts within the regional and global teams

  • Establish and maintain relationships externally with regulators, industry leaders and business associations in collaboration and coordination with the public policy heads of geography in MENA

  • Support the regional MENA Public Policy Director internally and externally and advise him on global and regional regulatory developments and issues related to FB, including but not limited to media and social media laws and regulations, data protection and privacy, connectivity, mobile partnerships and internet governance, e-Commerce, digital payments and cloud and cyber security

  • Cross-functionally work with internal stakeholders such as commercial and legal teams

  • Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends and issues of importance to the company

  • Advise internal colleagues and teams on public policy matters to help guide the development of products, services and policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy or a technology related field

  • 10+ year experience in the field including 5+ year experience in public policy, regulatory affairs or government relations

  • Proven track record in policy partnership/campaign building in a matrix organization

  • Superb English verbal and written communications skills, Arabic will be a strong differentiator

  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
