PwC's Economics team is looking to recruit an experienced public sector economist at Manager grade to join the firm's expanding economics practice.

Who we are and what we do

As one of the UK's leading economics consultancies, and part of PwC's global network of economists, we work alongside a wide range of clients, using economic insights to inform strategic choices, guide the development of policy and assess the impact of major investments. In the boardroom, in front of regulators and with policy makers, we develop big, distinctive ideas and important insights that are grounded in robust economic analysis.

We take pride in both the breadth of our expertise and our diversity, with our Economics team comprising people from 12 different countries, speaking 22 languages.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for candidates with significant professional experience (4-6 years minimum), most likely gained working as an economist in the Government Economic Service, but potentially gained working with an economics consultancy or international organisation or in a research background.

The successful candidates will need to have substantial practical experience of applying Green Book guidance on significant policy or investment projects. In particular, you will need to be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of leading and delivering successful projects across the policy cycle.

The ideal candidates will also be able to demonstrate an ability, with appropriate support, to source business opportunities and play a significant role in the expansion of PwC's public sector economics offerings.

Whilst the successful candidates will work across a range of sectors, we would be especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following sectors: energy; transport; housing and other local public infrastructure.

We envision the role to be based in our London office, but we are also open to discussions with regards to being based in one of our regional offices.
