Building a sustainable tomorrow

The TRU West Alliance is delivering a key part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), a multi-billion pound investment programme that will increase capacity and provide space for millions more passengers in the north every year. The TRU West Alliance is responsible for this transformation between Leeds and Manchester Victoria. 

Role purpose: To report to the Quality Manager in support of quality management capabilities on the project. Training will be given for each area of responsibility. You will be based in the Manchester office


Your mission

•    Contribute to the development and improvement of the TRU West Quality Management Plan and embedding the Voice of the Customer throughout the project organisation. Understand and support the development of quality risks to prioritise the deployment of quality management expertise in key areas for optimum effect.
•    Assisting in developing supply chain management partnerships in quality management for a seamless delivery of products and services in a collaborative spirit to solve problems.
•    Managing the schedule of reviews of TRU West’s management plans, processes, procedures and other components of the Integrated Management System to identify improvements.
•    To observe and understand the process and reporting of internal quality audits. To assist in managing the Non-Conformance Register and drive continual improvement through timely closing out of audit findings.
•    Understanding and assisting in the development of Lean practices & continual improvement including the use of quality tools eg ‘cause & effect’, root cause analysis & value stream mapping.
•    Understand & assist the development of quality management competences for roles across the project.
•    To learn and assist in construction inspection and testing routines on site and the value of inspection and test plans and checklists.

•    Meticulous at planning and organising
•    Great teamworking skills to collaborate effectively 
•    Good capabilities in Microsoft office suite
•    Desirable – basic understanding of construction industry
