R&D Digital & Data Technologist

THE GLOBAL DIGITAL & DATA TEAM:
The global Digital & Data team is the central team in Foods & Refreshment (F&R) Research & Development (R&D) to enable and lead the digital transformation of our organisation. Our core expertise area and responsibility are to provide the systems expertise and user solutions to drive data quality in our core ingredient and product specifications. Increasingly, we are also strengthening our capability in data engineering, visualisation, reporting and data science to extract the maximum value from data we have. While using all data to support F&R’s computer modelled design agenda. The digital and data team is working closely together with many teams across F&R R&D, ranging from regional to local deploy centre teams on product specs to global design centres/Science & Technology/Capability teams on data science and models.
The Global Foods and Refreshment R&D team is heavily investing in data recording technology which is transforming our product development capability, providing a step change in our ability to capture formulation, processing, packaging, pilot plant and factory data. Therefore, we are looking for a digital & data technologist. In this role, as a member of system expertise & user solution team, you will be leading the deployment of IT systems across R&D. You will ensure that users will be able to effectively use the systems while standardizing data structures and improving efficiency. Furthermore, this role will also be part of the data specialists squad. In this squad you will drive even more simplification and standardization of data across our R&D departments.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a technologist who is passionate about the successfully implementing IT systems while constantly driving improvements.
Deployment of IT tools and user solutions to Unilever F&R R&D globally while ensuring it is aligned with the needs and demands of its users (the stakeholders).
Actively approach our internal consumers (the users of the systems) to further improve and develop systems & processes.
Maintain and define quality of data while spotting gaps and improving these within our data so our users can effectively use the data.
Drive digital & data culture in Unilever R&D being ambassador of IT tools and digital processes.
ALL ABOUT YOU:
A master's degree in data science, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, IT or similar. Combination of both data/IT & food would be a plus.
Experience in technical data management & reporting; especially in briefing design, testing and deployment of IT tools.
Experience in Data & IT; data mining, data management, data analytics, reporting and interpreting results within power BI & Excel.
A great team player, but you can also work autonomously and motivate yourself in a highly matrixed & agile organization.
