Research & Engagement Relationships Manager

We are recruiting for a Research & Engagement Relationships Manager to join our Public Engagement team on a 2 year fixed term contract.
We're a global charitable foundation, both politically and financially independent. We support researchers, take on big health challenges, campaign for better science, and help everyone get involved with science and health research. In the next five years, we aim to spend up to £5 billion helping thousands of curious, passionate people all over the world explore ideas in science, population health, medical innovation, the humanities and social sciences and public engagement.
The Research & Engagement Relationships Manager will be responsible for the Public Engagement department's long-term relationships with key delivery and partner organisations. You will have a critical role in influencing and enabling our partners to develop help fulfil our public engagement mission and leveraging the reach and interest of those partners' researchers and staff to help us achieve our medium- and long-term goals.
Reporting into the Funding & Activities lead you will be responsible for finding new ways that we can support Public Engagement with researchers and research institutions. You will be leading strategic projects such as a new feasibility study to assess the need for a new organisation to support researchers, developing and refining our funding mechanisms and support for researchers and research institutions. This role also thinks about the sector development for public engagement and we see this role encouraging an atmosphere of mutual support and feedback amongst the community of individuals that make up the broader network.
This role also has the opportunity to build partnerships with other global and major research or engagement funders as part of our long-term aim of building the profile of, and support for, public engagement with research beyond its traditional supporters.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Knowledge of the global and UK research, and research funding, ecosystem.
Experience of working with researchers or academic staff to create effective public engagement strategies, and deliver impactful public engagement activities
Experience of creating and leading multi-year, multi-country partnerships which have delivered significant change
Experience of establishing multi-year, multi-country partnerships to deliver or support programmes in the academic or research sectors
