As a Risk Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for the identification, assessment, evaluation, treatment, reporting and review of threats and opportunities to ensure the successful delivery of the HS2 Programme. The role will generally align to a significant contract area.

About the role:

  • Identify, assess, evaluate and record risks and their treatment actions in HS2’s Risk Management System (Xactium)

  • Ensure all risk management activities are undertaking in accordance with HS2’s plans and procedures

  • Facilitate risk workshops

  • Actively  promote team working and collaboration with HS2’s  supply chain in managing risk

  • Provide input to monthly HS2 risk reports

  • Support non-risk colleagues and stakeholders by providing guidance and advice on risk management

  • Lead, mentor, guide, advise and support direct reports to ensure business objectives are achieved 

  • Actively promote and embed  Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work; and support and comply with all EDI organisational initiatives, policies and procedures.

  • Behave at all times in a manner consistent with the HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity & Respect.



About You:

  • Project risk management role within large scale, complex infrastructure projects

  • Member of Programme Management Office (PMO)

  • Ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative risk analyses in support of business decision making

  • ability to build complex cost, schedule and risk models in a number of applications, appropriate to maturity of projects and programmes

  • Actively promote and the benefits of risk management when engaging with colleagues and stakeholders

  • Ability to develop, with aid of subject matter experts where appropriate, and implement appropriate risk management actions for identified risks across projects

  • Presenting and explaining risk assessments to varied audiences

  • The post-holder is expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect
