As Senior CDM Principal Designer Coordinator you'll be responsible for providing Principal Designer coordination and assurance across Construction supporting the Engineering Directors and Heads of Engineering and Environment in fulfilling their duties as Principal Designer Representatives within Phase 1

About the role:

  • To coordinate the Principal Designer Representatives across Phase 1;
  • To assure that the duties of the Principal Designer Representative as mandated within the CDM Regulations 2015 are being discharged across Phase 1;
  • To provide consistent support to the Lead Senior Project Engineer - Principal Designer Coordination and the Principal Designer Representatives across Phase 1 providing standard processes and templates;
  • Report periodically on Principal Designer activities including digital metrics.
  • Raise concerns and issues to the Lead Senior Project Engineer - Principal Designer Coordination and the (IPT based) Heads of Engineering and Environment in a timely manner.
  • You will be expected to actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

Qualifications:

About You:

• The ability to provide technical support and leadership on discipline-specific analysis, problem solving and design techniques;

• Technical skills - ability to apply digital engineering to HS2 Principal Designer duties.

• Applicable UK construction regulations including UK Construction Design Management legislation;

• Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements.;

• Chartered Engineer/Membership of an appropriate professional institution or the equivalent experience.

• Experience of working with Construction Design Management legislation and the Principal Designers duties.
