Job Title - Senior Contract Manager 

Salary -  Up to £59,000 depending on experience plus Veolia benefits *listed below

Location - Slough

Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and safety conscious Senior Contract Manager to manage our Total Facilities Management services contract for a pharmaceutical facility in Slough, UK.

What you’ll do

  • Day-to-day communication with client representatives on-site.

  • Management of site team, ensuring all legal, corporate and duty-of-care responsibilities are met, including Safety, Health & Welfare of staff.

  • Lead a team of 60+ Veolia staff delivering the services on-site.

  • Ensure all plant under the control of Veolia is maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specification/best practice.

  • Delegating, organising and coordinating all resources to ensure successful completion and implementation of activity/service.

  • Identification and filling of roles on the team when/if required.

  • Ensure that Veolia staff are trained to carry out their roles and to put in place appropriate development plans using the Veolia performance development process.

  • Technical and commercial evaluation of required sub-contracted services.

  • Management of sub-contracted services.

  • Weekly and or monthly reports of all activities on site. 

  • Cost control and commercial contract management.

  • Financial Management and reporting of the contract activities to Veolia General Manager.

  • Deliver all Veolia site services within budget.

  • Prepare budget forecasts and track to plan for financial costing.

  • Familiarisation with relevant statutory acts pertaining to staff safety and welfare.

  • Familiarisation with relevant statutory acts pertaining to equipment function and status.

  • Attendance at relevant governance and technical meetings with the client

  • Ensure that all Veolia company procedures are adhered to and that quality standards are maintained at all times.

  • Establish and develop opportunities to diversify or increase contractual services to the client.

The experience you will need


  • Engineering degree or equivalent (mechanical or building services), with proven post-graduate experience, or

  • Trade qualification (National Craft Cert, City & Guilds or Equivalent), preferably mechanical or building services, with substantial previous (post apprenticeship) experience and with previous supervisory/line management experience, or

  • Marine qualification, with proven experience at sea.

  • Previous maintenance and troubleshooting experience across a range of equipment and services.

  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a cGMP environment.

  • Previous operating experience within a regulated environment.

  • Excellent PC Skills & ability to develop and deliver presentations at both client and internal levels.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good Computer Skills (Excel, Word etc).


  • Six Sigma qualification.

  • Supervisory/management qualification.

  • Knowledge and experience of working with a Quality Management System.

  • Knowledge or previous exposure to cGMP regulations.

  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a pharmaceutical utility environment.

  • A track-wise or similar system for quality action management.

  • Experience in an energy management role with the ability to demonstrate a clear history of savings achieved.

  • Experience and knowledge of industrial waste management.

  • Demonstrate an ability to motivate and drive a team in a continuous improvement environment.

  • Continuous Improvement techniques 5S/Kaizen/6 sigma/ FMEA.
