Department Summary

The Digital Data & Technology team at Starcom are data driven experts that help drive growth for our clients through the intelligent application of data and technology. DDT as a department is embedded within the Planning team at Starcom and works hand in hand with planners to drive more insight from data, apply the insight to audience targeting and creative messaging as well as deploy dynamic measurement solutions to continuously optimize to drive client business goals. The DDT team is also an important agency conduit for collaboration across an extensive London Publicis family. Publicis expertise in media, creative, and automation are accessible and supportive in our digital transformation efforts. We work closely with internal and external experts to present solutions to client problems and ensure their effective application as part of our campaigns. With a continuous eye to the future our goal is to ensure our client's continued success.

Job Description

Role Summary

As DDT Senior Director, you have three overarching responsibilities that directly relate to our agency Growth Pillars and internal Expectations Framework. DDT is at the crux of growth in today's industry and Starcom, which presents an incredible opportunity for personal career growth if you are able to translate your contribution to growth for clients, team, and agency.

1. Growth for Clients: our goal is to create brilliant experiences that drive faster growth for our clients, and you will work with various teams within the broader Publicis Media organisation (Content, Sports, Data and Commerce Practices) to do so. Specific responsibilities are:

- Be a trusted advisor to key senior clients using highly engaging, influential relational skills; be sought out by client (team) as the go-to expert on industry and client- specific strategic issues

- Lead strategic direction for clients, support MP in designing Growth Plan; Produce data and tech strategies which are clear, smart and underpin client growth through the application of data and technology. You'll be aware of other client projects and make an effort to strategically involve DDT whenever possible

- Confidently articulate recommendations with clients up to Marketing-Director level

- Communicate a compelling vision of the future and help the client understand what it means for them; demonstrate ability to identify key issues and objectives and solve problems in a systematic manner

- Establish and review key strategic priorities and translate them into actionable and quantitative plans shared with all.

2. Develop a Growth Team: You will have the chance to be a major contributor in shaping the culture of the teams that work in the agency. Specifically:

- Lead, inspire and motivate a team to perform; Continually coach on performance, driving accountability to enable performance excellence; Agree SMART goals that are strategically aligned with business goals; celebrate successes - reinforcing contributions

- Disseminate expertise back into the business, raise knowledge and evolutional thinking.

- Transform capabilities, inspiring and engaging talent along the journey

- Build close relationships with internal capabilities and external partners and play a lead role in cross-capability engagement

- Provide strategic guidance for building DDT deliverables into leverageable intellectual capital (e.g. case studies) for use across Starcom

- Have significant influence in refining structure and remit of DDT team, defining capabilities and role within planning team and agency.

- Bolster profile of DDT team with key planning and activation team members

3. Drive Growth for Starcom: You are an ambassador for the Starcom brand and will be part of helping us build an exceptional reputation both within Publicis Groupe and with external partners. Specifically:

- Passionately drive the integration of Power of One seeking opportunities to make the model seamless and demonstrating clear value to clients.

- Be a proactive driver of ideas and solutions in new business pitches contributing expertise and thought leadership to pitch stories

- Use industry and client insights to reinvent our solutions for clients creating revenue opportunities for Starcom

- Have purposeful, commercial collaboration and overcome barriers for fluidity across the business

- Drive organic growth to account for DDT resource within client scope, and build solutions proposals for out of scope opportunities

- Consistently sought out within Starcom for strategic insight and expertise in at least one specific area (skill, tool, or channel)

Qualifications

  • We are looking for a brilliant data driven marketer who can tell compelling stories through data and gain buy-in across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Someone who can clearly, simply and convincingly articulate the role digital channels play in the marketing landscape, contextualize the value of digital for overall client business goals and explain sometimes complex thinking in simple language.
  • A strategic and big-picture thinker, grounded in analytics and optimisation, able to uncover strategic insights that can help create, shape and transform overall client (digital) strategic direction through a media strategy and communications plan.
  • Natural curiosity and desire to help clients achieve goals
  • Commercial,naturally driven and high energy to constantly rise to the challenge
  • You will be confident in presenting both internally and externally
  • Proficiency in ad tech and marketing automation systems, including Adobe, Salesforce and Oracle
  • Experience briefing a team of specialists and the ability to bridge planning and specialist execution. A brilliant operator with clear understanding of process and timing.
  • Expertise in both digital and offline media planning, across all channels, with the deep understanding of latest and emerging buying models that influence KPI setting
  • Team leadership and guidance - inspire and motivate the planning team to deliver for us
  • You are a self-starter, keen to help others develop client value from digital, visible to the wider team, inspirational yet approachable
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of digital marketing experience, with a strong focus on direct response/ROI driven marketing (display
